Anscombe's paradox

A proposal is one plan. Every plan can pass, while most people lose most of them.

A proposal is one plan the group votes on. These three plans are a park, a road, and a clinic. Five people vote yes or no on each plan. A plan passes when at least 3 say yes.

Red people are the larger group. Yellow people are the smaller group. Open one plan. Anyone who voted no moves aside. Then open the other plans. There is also a button that makes voter 4 vote no on the park.

The park passes, 3 yes to 2 no. The road passes, 3 to 2. The clinic passes, 3 to 2.

Voters 1, 2, and 3 each voted no on two plans. Voters 4 and 5 voted yes on all three.

Every plan passes. Most of the people are still on the losing side of most plans.
